Last of the Zinnias Stowe, VT 6" x 6" Oil on Panel Mom and I and her German Shepard Blitz took a ride to the local Mennonite Farmstand yesterday afternoon in hopes of finding some Zinnias. We had gone a few days before and they only had sunflowers but I spotted some Zinnias in the garden so I was hoping they may have cut some for the weekend. I got the last stems and they were starting to look a little weathered. Todays painting seemed a little more challenging then the first two Zinnia paintings I did. I was having a hard time moving the paint with the palette knife and I didn't quite capture the shadow areas of some of the flowers but after some dreary days it was fun to play with some color. The highlight of the trip to the farmstand!
