Candle

It was a torrent of rain outside today, finally. Decided to do something completely different. My mother has had this candleholder for as long as I can remember. I spotted it in her bedroom and thought that would be a challenge to paint. I just placed it on a hutch with some window light illuminating it. The candle holder itself has some intricate details but I just stuck with general shape, values and color and I got a likeness (with a bit of imagination). I always forget how much fun painting still lives are.
